With regard to section 19.9 of its Code of Conduct, KEFEA has made the decision to establish a white list of 5* hotels in Cyprus, in which KEFEA members may hold and sponsor events, should they wish to do so.
The white list was considered necessary due to the paucity of suitable 4* hotels in Cyprus for holding such events. The paucity arose from a lack of appropriate conference rooms, difficulty adhering to Covid-19 health protocols, and lack of appropriate technological infrastructure.
Therefore, KEFEA has considered that the following hotels, whilst being 5* establishments, are in line with the provisions and the spirit of the Code:
(a) Nicosia
- The Landmark Hotel (to be assessed again after its renovation)
- The Hilton
(b) Limassol
- Amathus Beach Hotel
- Grand Resort Hotel
- St. Raphael
(c) Ayia Napa
- Adams Beach Hotel
- Atlantica Aeneas Hotel
(d) Larnaca
- Golden Bay Hotel
- Radisson Blu
(e) Paphos
- Azia Beach Hotel
- Leptos Coral Beach Hotel
The list will be reviewed again at the end of 2022.
Healthcare organisations (HCOs) as well as congress organisers continue to be able to use any other hotel or venue they wish, and follow the procedure in the KEFEA Code of Conduct for applying for an exemption.
KEFEA clarifies that during the tourist season, congress organisers should avoid organising events in popular tourist areas.
KEFEA reiterates that with respect to the white list, all other provisions in the Code are to be adhered to faithfully.
